I am a junior at the University of Arizona pursuing a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Special Education and Rehabilitation. This year, I am a research assistant in the Motor Speech Research Lab and a student worker at ArtWorks, which is a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities housed in the UA Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities. As a UCEDD Trainee, I am looking forward to expanding my understanding of disability and gaining experience working with people with disabilities in the community. As I work toward my goal of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist, I strive to gain the knowledge and experience I will need to advocate for the full inclusion and community integration of people with disabilities.
