Hello! My name is Riley Aldrich, and I'm a senior double-majoring in Neuroscience & Cognitive Science and Psychology with a minor in Educational Psychology. After graduating this upcoming spring, I hope to begin a master's program in School Counseling. I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs, and I come from a large family of teachers. Growing up, I heard a lot about the teaching profession, specifically special education. While I do not want to be a teacher, I am drawn to the school environment and hope to help students with mental health, long-term planning, and everyday conflicts as a school counselor. Understanding how developmental disabilities impact different areas of life is key to helping the children I hope to work with someday, so I am eager to gain experience in the field of disability through this certificate.
