I am a Junior pursuing a Bachelors degree in both Studio Art with an emphasis on two dimensional studies as well as Art and Visual Cultural Education with an emphasis on Community and Museums at the University of Arizona. I was born and raised in Tucson and have always loved the varieties of communities and cultures that have made Tucson its home. I have always loved the arts and have been interested more on the ways art and art education can help in everyday situations. Throughout my time at the University, I have learned many new and interesting theories as well as had the opportunity to work with some amazing programs. This semester I am getting more hands on experience with museums at the University's art museum as well as getting the amazing opportunity to work at Artworks. I have volunteered with Artworks for the last couple of months and it has made a lasting impression on me. Learning with the students has been an amazing opportunity and programs like this should be highlighted more at the University of Arizona. I hope to take the experiences I have gotten at the University of Arizona as well as Artworks and implement them in my future teachings wherever that may be.
