Helping others has always been a priority for me and has shaped my educational and career pursuits in many ways. Upon entering my freshman year in college, I was convinced that I wanted to be a physician. Through professional and academic experiences as well as reflection, I determined that social work was a more ideal field for me to enter. With a multitude of opportunities to help others, I’m excited to find my place in the field, and I am eager to begin this portion of my journey by exploring ways to increase the quality of life and overall wellbeing for individuals with disabilities. I currently manage a primary care physician’s office during the week and teach yoga on the weekends. I hope to expand and utilize my leadership skills, and to incorporate the benefits of breathing techniques and gentle movement during my time as a Sonoran UCEDD Trainee.
