I am a junior studying Public Health with a minor in Special Education in Rehabilitation. I have been working with individuals with disabilities for the past 6 years through the Best Buddies program and the Civitan Foundation. I am currently a Behavioral Technician, working with children with autism helping develop life and interpersonal skills through Butterfly Effects. As a recipient of the Chicanos Por La Causa scholarship, I hope to apply my interest in minority and environmental health as well as disability studies to further study the underlying factors that play a role in the genetics of disability.
