Certificate in Developmental Disabilities

I am currently a senior at the University of Arizona studying Psychology B.A. and Rehabilitation Studies B.S.E. Working with the UCEDD Certificate program for Developmental Disabilities has provided me opportunities to further my education within disability studies and taught me how I could enact change in the community. My goal beyond undergraduate studies is to pursue an M.A. in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling in an effort to earn my LPC and run a private practice therapy center to help adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or those who have experienced trauma. Since 2019, I have been working alongside Kris Bosworth on developing a website to implement school safety initiatives in middle and high schools throughout Arizona. During my college experience, I have also worked in the LGBTQ Center on campus where I worked with a team of 6 to develop a curriculum and activities to educate and entertain the community, in addition to working 1-on-1 with students in crisis situations. These are two of many different opportunities I have had to work with the local community and I look forward to the journey ahead!
