My name is Leah Guerrero and I was born and raised here in Tucson, AZ as a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Arizona in 2015 in Psychology and History. Having pursued a few career opportunities out of state, I found myself returning home once more in pursuit of a Master's degree in the Public Administration program here at UArizona. I became a UCEDD trainee because of my interest in a project called Fostering Positive Outcomes (FPO), which is focused on developing a statewide assessment to understand the needs of youth in foster care with disabilities across the state of Arizona. Alongside Jacy Farkas, and the rest of the FPO team, I hope to contribute something positive to improve outcomes for disadvantaged Arizona youth.
