This session will describe how funding resources can be utilized together to support transition and employment programs and services for youth with disabilities. The combined funding through a strategy known as braiding and blending dollars and resources expands the opportunities for transition-aged youth to prepare for employment. Illustrations of this practice in a rural Tribal community will demonstrate how services can be enhanced through collaborative partnerships and sharing of resources to improve post-school outcomes. Representatives from state vocational rehabilitation, Baboquivari high school, the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities, and Tribal vocational rehabilitation will share how they made this happen and the benefits to their organizations.
