By inviting national and local experts, this virtual conference will provide accurate information, discuss available tools, and present resources for caregivers/support teams who care for people with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) and are affected by Dementia. The focus areas include:
- Background of Aging/Dementia for people with IDD, and an overview of national resources/network activities
- Adapting Goals/Daily Activities and Support
- Finding Joy in Life as We Approach End of Life
- Clinical Significance/Research, Identification/Screening
- Accessing support and services
Throughout this day-long virtual program, practical self-care activities called “Me for a Minute” will be also introduced.
