Project Together
An art-based group grief support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About
Through art-making, this ArtWorks program offers participants opportunities to articulate grief at the death of a parent, caregiver, or a close family member. Our approach utilizes expressive arts to remove communication barriers between persons with different types and levels of disabilities. Through peer-based, creative interactions, we develop strong and supportive community membership. The development of the curriculum was initially supported by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2015. Since the COVID-19, we are holding off in-person programming for community members outside of the ArtWorks program.
