About the Project
This continuing education course was developed in collaboration between the Sonoran Center and the Western Region Public Health Training Center (WRPHTC). The goals of this collaboration are to:
- Develop educational programs and professional development opportunities that improve the skills of public health workers to provide culturally and linguistically competent services and support for people with disabilities.
- Increase the competencies of the public health workforce to serve individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Increase the numbers and retention of individuals who enter the public health workforce.
The WRPHTC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team through November 2025. The WRPHTC is a Designated Multiple Event Provider of Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
