Certificate in Developmental Disabilities
I am originally from the Douglas, Arizona – Agua Prieta, Sonora border and came to the University of Arizona in 2013 to study psychology. My early undergraduate career consisted of being a research assistant for several laboratories in the psychology and family studies department. I got interested in developmental disabilities studies during my junior year and decided then to pursue a graduate career in counseling. I am part of the U of A’s Active Minds Club, which promotes mental health awareness and also I am part of Arizona Model United Nations. My aspirations are to become a professional in mental health services and be of assistance back in my hometown county area as well as in the marginalized parts of Arizona and Sonora.
