Interdisciplinary Approach to Disability in Professional Practice Intern 

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 1986, with my Bachelor's degree in education, with a specialization in rehabilitation counseling. I then worked for Cox Enterprises Auto Division for 22 years, from 1987 to 2009. In 2009, I moved to Salt Lake City, UT, where I underwent orthopedic surgery for a dislocated hip. While there, I earned my certification in disability studies and mediation from the University of Utah. In 2015, I returned to Tucson, in hopes of pursuing my Masters in Social Work. In 2019, that dream became a reality. My hope is to be a positive part of the social work profession. I am honored to be part of my alma mater once again, as a UCEDD intern. I am honored and blessed to have the academic support of my friend, Matthias, who is on the journey with me in my pursuit of my Masters degree!
