Interdisciplinary Approach to Disability in Professional Practice Intern
My name is Amber Hansen. I am a student at Arizona State University (ASU) working towards a master's degree in Social Work. I also received my bachelor's degree from ASU in Family & Human Development. I am also profoundly Deaf. I am bilingual in American Sign Language (ASL) and written English which are my primary means of communication. As an undergraduate student, I had the privilege of being a Deaf mentor for families with deaf babies and toddlers through Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind. I discovered a significant gap in early intervention for this population which inspired me to pursue a MSW to gain knowledge and experience in order to close this gap. I look forward to gaining social work experience as an intern at UCEDD.
