Interdisciplinary Approach to Disability in Professional Practice Intern

Hola! I'm Alehxia Apodaca, a senior at the University of Arizona with majors in Spanish with an emphasis in translation & interpretation, as well as pre-deaf studies, and a minor in classics. Both my major fields have helped me learn a lot about disabilities and disability culture, as well as the proper terminology and appropriate language that is used in both English and Spanish. I'm very excited to be working with the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities and to gain more skills and experience in helping people receive and have access to medical and health information!
