SuperFest 2023
The University of Arizona Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities was a proud sponsor of the Big Game weekend SuperFest event in Peoria, Arizona on Saturday, February 11, 2023. The football and cheerleading clinic, in support of The Matthew Foundation, is held with the purpose of showcasing inclusion, while providing an opportunity for youth with developmental disabilities the chance to participate together with their peers.
Sonoran Center staff served on the event's planning committee, recruited participants, and volunteered at the clinic, which was also featured on ESPN!
This year marks the eighth anniversary of SuperFest since it began in 2016. In addition to the Sonoran Center, other organizations including Raising Special Kids and the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council contributed to the event. It was a great opportunity to spread the word about the variety of community resources available across the state.
