Join us for an informative session that will highlight the experiences of Mateo TreeTop through the special education system as a student with Traumatic Brain Injury. Educators, parents and students will be provided with insight about Mateo's journey including how his Lakota cultural teachings contributed to his resilience when he encountered challenging situations. Mateo's cultural values also provided a successful pathway as he transitioned into adulthood. Mateo and his mother, Tona TreeTop will share their perspectives about effective practices at home and at school that made this journey possible.
